The Project in Achrafieh is a newly acquired building at the AUST campus. Int’l IGM task was to investigate the existing structure, design for strengthening & construction.The study was directed towards allowing a sizeable increase in live load capacity to reach school load standards (450 kg/m2). The tasks of Int’l IGM are described in the following sequence: 1.Testing the concrete quality, steel reinforcement and key dimensions. 2.Strengthen any structural element that is found unsatisfactory either by using reinforced shotcrete or the CFRP. 3.Element with corroded steel reinforcement were repaired & supported by steel beams. 4.Strengthen the foundation system by installing micropiles.
