This project required a deep excavation in a highly congested urban area of East Beirut. The shoring of the excavation was started by another company that was deemed incompetent early on in the project. IGM was hired to fix the problem and pursue the shoring and excavation works based on a full design using many methods / software to predict the behavior and expected movements while ensuring safety. The shoring was done with contiguous piles and shotcrete in the vertical direction, supported by many rows of active lateral anchors.
