MANSOURIEH GATE / PHASE I

Client: Mr. Gaby Kikano
After a terrible failure of the old shoring system,  jeopardizing a residenc, Int’l IGM was called for the evaluation and remedial shoring works. The complexity of the project lies in the re-work phase where many obstacles had to be overcome: setting up a work platform on loose soil, drilling through the old reinforced shotcrete that is now underneath, and resetting the site limits behind which is loose backfill material. The solution consisted of installing many vertical micropiles (225, 10m. long) paired and superposed to improve rigidity.  This was done in 2 stages with a terrace since deep drilling was very challenging in loose material and time consuming.  All micropiles were supported by active high capacity 80T anchors (90, 12m long average) (instead of previous passive nails) in order to stop further displacements of the 20m high excavated walls.
