Client: SOUTHCOAST WIND ENERGY/Mr Mike Dubuisson
This 200MW windfarm project is a pioneer along the Texas coast. It consists of 136 turbines, 1.6 & 2.1 MW in size. The challenge is mainly geotechnical with the presence of the weak clay formation and the danger of surge waves and hurricane loads.
IGM conducted a site visit with a detailed report covering all Civil and Electrical (with EPE sister company) aspects. IGM also conducted a detailed Soil Investigation campaign.
A preliminary foundation design for 2 turbine types covering different alternatives was made, including a financial analysis for budgeting purposes.
